Feature & Follow #6: Let's Talk About Our Local Book Fair

Good morning folks,

It's Friday and it's time to have a new feature and follow blog post, which is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read & Parajunkee's View.

What is Feature and Follow Friday?
In simple words- to gain more followers either via GFC or Bloglovin'. So the very idea of having this feature and follow meme is to collect more new bloggers on the block and to make new blogger friends as well as followers. It is a great idea which was started out by Alison and  Rachel. Three Cheers for those two masterminds!

So How does it Works?
  • Follow the Featured Bloggers on their blogs
  • Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
  • Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
  • If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
  • Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
  • If someone comments and says they are following you, please return the courtesy by following them back. Spread the Love...and the followers
 This Week's Question:
Have you ever been to BEA? If not, what's stopping you? If you have, what was your best experience there? - Suggested by The Paperback Princess

First, thanks to Alison for explaining what's BEA- Book Expo America. Before, today, I had no clue about BEA! I'll ask you people, "have you ever been to KIBF?", oh wait, you guys live in America or London, so you might not be familiar with India's largest book fair and moreover, it's international! Please whoever, posting these type of questions, I'd request them not to make it biased country wise, make it global, since there are lot of global bloggers who follow this Friday meme! I would request Alison, not to accept these kind of questions, since it provokes partiality towards other international or non-US and non-UK resident bloggers.
My country's book fair is huge, we have not only seen Jhumpa Lahiri and Salman Rushdie, but this year Anita Diamant  and many other popular UK authors were present, since this year our book fair theme was Great Britain. Every year, the theme is about some country, like last year it was Portugal and so on! And it's like really huge, you literally have to fight with other people to get your hands on your favorite book. Long and never-ending queses are a common scene in front of every book stall. So it's pretty nice and popular fair of our city.
Thank you, and I'm sorry, if I've hurt anybody's feelings in any possible way. Have a nice day.
This is a  snap from our Kolkata International Book Fair of this year.

  10. Your book fair sounds awesome! I wish I could go, but it will be hard enough for me to get to the BEA one day here in the USA. I would love to see/meet Salman Rushdie! Thanks for visiting my blog! New follower!

  11. I haven't been to BEA. It's way too expensive.
    Old follower.

  12. Oh wow, your book fair sounds amazing! We don't have anything like that here. The closest events to me are in the UK, and I wish I could hop back and forth frequently... but it's not possible :( Oh well, maybe one day! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier :)

  13. I would love to attend BEA, too. To be honest I didn't know what it was until recently, but now I want to go badly. I might be able to attend this year, but it's across three school days, so I'm not sure I'll be able to. It's so cool you've been to KIBF, though, it sounds awesome!

  14. It sounds like you have a great book expo of your own to attend! I would love to go to BEA one year, but it is way too expensive.

  15. What a cool book fair! Thank you for stopping by. :)

  16. Ooh I did not know about that. It sounds fun though. Maybe someday in future I'll attend. New follower! Thanks for stopping by :)

  17. I had heard of KIBF as I remember seeing a piece on it being based on the UK. It sounds great.
I'm certain I was following by GFC, but Google had a bit of a mishap recently and I've found a lot of blogs have been 'unfollowed' so I've done it again.

Thanks for stopping by mine xx

  18. Thank you for stopping by my blog, I've not been to BEA or any other bookish event, one of these days I would love to make it to any convention one of these days. New follower via GFC and bloglovin.

  19. I haven't been to BEA. I do live in the US though. I go to more local cons. Your giant book convention sounds fantastic. :)

    New follower!

  23. That is so cool! Looks like fun!

    Old follower!

  24. If the BEA question was never asked then some of us wouldn't have heard about the KIBF in your country.
