Festive Wear Look Book #1: Be Casual in a Saree

Canon 1200D 18-55mm Zoom lens

Durga Puja, for us Bengalis, it is not just a festival, it is an emotion that can't be shrugged off or ignored. For 10 days, Devi Durga along with her four children, embark from their heaven abode to the lands of the mortal to shower her immense blessings upon all of us and to curb darkness and evil from the face of the Earth. This puja is all about worshiping female power, her indomitable strength and her love and ultimately it is more about the fight of goodness over evil.

During this very time of the year, the Bengali women channel an exceptional beauty through them, that is mainly because of their attire and big-eyed-kohl looks. Even I too, who rarely wear any traditional attire, was decked up in an authentic traditional Bengali look, complete with a saree and kajal.

Since I've never been much of a fan of sarees, so I found myself being rescued by none other than Triveni Ethnics with their wide, unique and elegant collection of sarees and other traditional Indian wear for both men and women.

Canon 1200D 50mm Canon Prime Lens

On the sixth day of Durga Puja, i.e. Sosthi, we call it in Bengali, I wrapped myself in a dual tone red-and-blue contrast jacquard and georgette saree, that stuck to me for so many hours like a kind and understanding friend and not for once made me felt alien in it.

**PS: My last feeling is relatable to those women who are afraid to or rarely/never wear any saree in their life for any occasion, be it a wedding or a festival**

If you like this saree, then I'm afraid you can't get your hands on it, since it has gone out of stock from the website. Not to worry, there are other fantastic and eye-catchy dual tone colored and myriad sarees that are worth a buy and are incredibly beautiful.

Wrap yourself up in a Triveni Ethnics saree this festive season, and make all the heads turn.
Happy shopping guys!

The Big Book Box: Unboxing the June Book Box

Hello folks,
How have all been doing?! I've been busy lately with work (**boring alert**), some travelling with bae, reading as usual and photography (**my new found love, although it has been a year though**).

So, I think book subscription boxes, in general, are such great ideas, but I've never been able to find one that I actually really thought I would enjoy - until now.

The Big Book Box is an Indian based book subscription service that features some amazing and unique bookish goodies, fandom swag, art, food, exclusive author content (**that I bet you will not find anywhere in the world, if you wish to, nope I'm not exaggerating!**) in their boxes, besides the latest, up and coming books and pocket friendly subscription plans! They’ve been doing these monthly themed book boxes besides some regular themes like Harry Potter, Tiny Tots and Travel, and this was my first book box from them. And not to mention, their customer service is extremely helpful, warm and very friendly, replies almost within a moment.

Book-o-Box: Unboxing the June Book Box

Hey guys! So a little while ago, I found out that there was a couple of bibliophiles in Chennai who have decided that they, like the rest of us in this country, were tired of seeing other countries having amazing book subscription boxes while we had to either pay exorbitant shipping prices or simply have no way of getting it because international shipping wasn’t an option.

Moreover, also tired of all those upcoming YA subscription boxes in the country and nothing to ease the hunger of the die-hard fans of literary fiction.

Feature & Follow #16: My Favorite Cuisine

Good morning guys,
What a morning! Rain and water clogged streets welcomed my first step out of my house. Sorry can't give you a glimpse of it, because it was pouring heavily and I was scared that my precious Lumia phone would destroy if I take out from my pocket due to the rains. Anyways, I can give a snap shot of my office which has submerged under the water and I had to climb some walls to enter my office. Yeah, I'm very sporty when it comes down to these things, I can climbs trees, walls, houses, and anything!

Yeah so you can imagine the gravity of the situation in my city- Kolkata, which is famous for it's rains, since the whole city goes under the waters, and it feels like a fanatsy novel- a city under water, we are all like mermaids, there are some evil creatures lurking in the water, and there are some angle and hero like craetures protecting us from the evil, now I'm making up a story.

5 Effective Ways to Promote Your Blog Using Instagram

Good Day!!
So you've a blog that needs a certain amount of followers in a short span of time! I mean who doesn't have that in mind- 200 followers within a span of like 1.5 month. Yeah, you heard me right! It's possible now, no not by doing weekly memes (which is an incredibly slow process!!) or promoting your blog in the social media world, like Bloglovin' or Facebook or Twitter (bloggers' favorite platform!), but by promoting your blog on Instagram- a new social media which has over 300 million monthly users (way more than Twitter!). Why?

10 Reasons Why Adults (We) Must Read Young Adult (YA) Literature

“Too many adults wish to 'protect' teenagers when they should be stimulating them to read of life as it is lived.”

----Margaret A. Edwards

I certainly believe in the inspiring words of Margaret A. Edwards, whose candor reflection about Young Adult genre's benefits is very clear. Now I'm not a teenager then why should I involve myself in reading the most-loved genre books. I'm a grown-up, or rather say an adult who can take her own decisions and moreover, have a mind of her own, then why do I need to read YA?

Now there's a great debate that whether or not an adult should YA literature. So, I, being a 23-year old working woman, like to jot down the reasons of why I should never be ashamed of reading YA and mostly, why I love reading them.

Taylor Swift Book Tag

Hey Folks,

Hope you are having a great day. Well, I finally found some time to follow the Taylor Swift book tag from Jennifer @ AsteriskPear's Book Blog, which is by definition a meme featuring Taylor Swift's list of popular and hit songs from her career, followed by your interpretation of the books that matches with the theme of that song. Sounds cool right?!

Well, this meme was actually started by Sarah @ The Book Life as a YouTube video, so do check out her video!
