Month in a Recap #3: March

Good morning folks,

Now beyond International Women's Day, anniversary of Caesar's assassination, St. Patrick's day and World Water Day, for me March made an impression as the onset of hot summer days with a surprise of light showers. Apart from that, this bibliophile read a quite a lot of books, blogged a bit, made more bookish friends and the part of me beyond books and blogs enjoyed a lot with my friends some old and some new.So let's get down to recapitulating!!

  • Status of my Goodreads Reading Challenge

“So many books, so little time.”
 ----Frank Zappa

Remember how I took a resolution to read 365 books this year, well that's called over-confidence, and I think I won't let it beat me, hence I'm trying hard by reading faster and faster and I also need to learn to say "NO" when indie authors ask me for a review request. It's so annoying, books are like a drug to me and I can't get out of this addiction.

read 81 books toward her goal of 365 books.

  • Another bundle that I couldn't say "NO" to

“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.”
----Jorge Luis Borges

March Book Stash Alert- Except Looking for Alaska by John Green and Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, the rest of the books I received for review and blog tour purposes. Among the received books, there are some popular best-selling books and some are from indie authors. Wow, my laptop's screen photo-bombed this booky  picture..aww it's cute! Well, when I heard, Looking for Alaska is going to be another Holly flick, I couldn't stop myself from buying the book, and since Charlize Theron is one of my favorite actresses and Gillian Flynn- my favorite author, I couldn't stop myself from splurging few quids to buy the paperback copy of this book which went so AWOL from the Indian market! Oh yeah, and I still receive books from Harlequin! Guilty Pleasures!

  • Then what am I reading now?
“Never trust anyone who has not brought a book with them.”
----Lemony Snicket

Isn't the cover oh-so-beautiful!? Yeah, but unfortunately the book is turning out to be a cheesy read, but there's no harm in reading a cheesy romantic story once in a while! Yet, another of my guilty pleasures. And yes, Reader's Digest too! Dictatorship of the Dress by Jessica Topper is about a wedding gown and a sexy handsome man, and you need to choose any one among them! Ahh, tough choice!
Skin FYI: Due to my skin type and lack of moisture from my city's climate, I prefer using Vaseline Total Moisture which really works fine for me! Try it if you leave in a dry climate.

  • Shopping Alert
“Shopping is a woman thing. It's a contact sport like football. Women enjoy the scrimmage, the noisy crowds, the danger of being trampled to death, and the ecstasy of the purchase.”
----Erma Bombeck

Yeah, yeah, I know, I should learn to save some since it was on my list of resolution that I'd learn to save some quids before the world comes to an end, unfortunately, it's not in my system to save money or to get over my shopaholic side. And if you are so hell bound o stop me from shopping, then I think you need to send me a rehab or counseling session just like Rebecca Bloomwood!
My Shopping List:

Kitty Love Top from Shopnineteen which are perfect for either night out or day out for a brunch date or a concert date or a movie date with friends of course! Cuteness Factor: 100%

All Year Round Sunglasses from Shopnineteen which are so-in these days and can go with any look, just a little FYI- you need a nicely shaped and plucked eyebrows to go with it. Verdict: Quirky and Fun

Maybelline Bold Matte- Move over glossy lipglosses and glittery lip colors, Matte Lipsticks are here to rock our days, ladies try this from morning to night, with just a touch and you're always ready to rock any look. Try it! Bought it from Flipkart

  • University Rock Fest Night
“It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.”
----Ralph Waldo Emerson

No I'm not an uni student, but me and my friends decided to go to our city's most popular university's fest where a band was playing which, honestly, I never heard of. But anyways, we were all getting bit bored so we decided to catch up with each other in this fest, and unfortunately our old age, time and our ignorance got better of us, thus we ended up in a bar.

  • Another friend from my school days!
“A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.”
----Douglas Pagels

So many things can over brunch dates- Meet my gal pal from my school days- Aditi, a.k.a, Rim, apart from the fact that we both have same name, we are really good in synchronization, mischief and fun, but that was long time ago. And years later after passing through millions of graduation books and s series of heart-breaks, I met her and it felt just like the old times- perfectly in sync with never-ending remember-him-remember-her moments. Had a great day! Hope we will once again catch up in some near future.

Okay, so that's it then, that was my whole amazing month of March in a nutshell. Hope you guys too enjoyed the month of March!
Take Care, xx
And happy reading!
