Review #207: The Great Pyramid of Cydonia (Aoleon The Martian Girl, #5) by Brent LeVasseur

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“There are places on planet earth, where common sense doesn't apply.”

----Toba Beta, an Indonesian author

Brent LeVasseur, an American science fiction author, pens his very fist children's science fiction series, Aoléon The Martian Girl, and the fifth and the final book in this series, The Great Pyramid of Cydonia, which follows the adventures of a regular middle-grade farm boy with a Martian girl and with some Martian robots and aliens, they try to stop the Martian invasion on Earth and try to save the Martian girl's parents who were abducted in the city of Cydonia.

Synopsis:

Aoléon, Gilbert, Bizwat, Helios, and Zoot make it to their final destination - Cydonia where Aoléon’s parents are being held captive. They infiltrate a secret underground base and are confronted by a small army of sentrybots.

Bizwat lends Aoléon and Gilbert some of his advanced combat skills via a psionic brain dump. However, this may not be enough to save them from overwhelming hostile forces that will do anything to stop them.

They finally meet Pax - the Martian who originally set them out on the mission to discover the truth about the Luminon and his plans to invade Earth. However Pax is not who he seems to be, and through a turn of events, they uncover the true power behind all that has been happening on Mars.

Will they be able to rescue Aoléon’s parents and save Earth from invasion?

The Martian attack on earth would result in end of cattle supply from Nebraska as they were planning to take all the cows from Earth for milk supply. Gilbert, a boy from Nebraska along with his Martian allies are trying their best to stop this invasion. But before that, they have to save, Aoléon’s parents who are held captive in a desert city by the evil leader, Luminon, even if they have to fight weird creatures and mechanical aliens.

Well, the book left me teary eyed not because of the story but because of the fact that this is the last installment of this amazing and enchanting series. Yet once again, the author have breathed life into his story by depicted them in bright and vivid colors that only captivated my mind. I don't know how the author have came up with such intricate graphics and eye-popping colors. Each and every details have been laid out with great sophistication.

The writing is brilliant and easy to contemplate with. The pace is good, the narrative is free-flowing and articulate, with not much drama. Eloquence is very evident from his writing style that kept me glued till the very end.

The one thing for which I'd like to hats off to the author is his extremely unique and utterly brilliant imaginative skill. Some of the gadgets and the weaponry featured in the book requires lot of brain-work to come up with them and not only that, these weapons and gadgets are all logically and scientifically invented by the author, hence that makes them pretty striking.

The characters reflect a bright hue of all types of colors, I mean that are very alluring. They are distinct and diverse and each characters' demeanor is unique and striking. And definitely they are bound to leave an impressionistic mark upon our minds.

It's hard to say goodbye to Aoléon, Gilbert, Bizwat, Helios and Zoot, and thank you for their great adventures which kept me on my edges till the very last book.

Verdict: Highly recommended to very science-fiction and Star-Trek fanatics. This series is hard to give it a miss!
